Romeo Santos on upcoming MetLife show: ‘It’s a blessing’

For Romeo Santos, performing live isn’t just about singing a song. It’s about giving die-hard fans an entertaining, memorable and life-changing experience.

His commitment to live performance is probably why he’s been able to sell out Yankee Stadium twice and is now set to become the first Latin act to perform at MetLife Stadium, home to the New York Giants and New York Jets. The King of Bachata will perform his “UTOPIA The Concert” at the East Rutherford, New Jersey, venue on Sept. 21.

“It is a blessing,” the singer of Dominican and Puerto Rican descent, who hails from the Bronx, said in an interview Monday. “I’ve had loyal fans for quite a while now. To be able to even say that I’ve already sold out two nights at Yankee Stadium, multiple nights at Madison Square Garden — it’s truly a blessing. Now it’s a new challenge in my career to do MetLife, so I’m super-excited about that.”

Wisin Y Yandel Keep Their Reggaeton Reunion Going With A Billboard Latin Hit

With ten No. 1 hits there as a duo, Wisin & Yandel are clearly no strangers to Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs.

And this week, the reunited Puerto Rican reggaetón pair show they’ve lost none of their power nor their momentum as the track “Aullando” rises to No. 10 on the multi-metric Spanish-language singles chart.  Taken from this past December’s Los Campeones del Pueblo / The Big Leagues album, the song marks their 22nd together to appear on Hot Latin Songs.

As if the return of one of reggaetón’s most celebrated and commercially successful duos wasn’t enough to make “Aullando” a hit, the track benefits from a feature by Romeo Santos. Incidentally, the bachata king reunited his own band Aventura recently, and that group’s comeback single “Inmortal” currently holds the No. 12 spot on Hot Latin Songs after reaching a No. 5 peak a few weeks back.
