Miss America- Puerto Rico

As you all may know, Miss Puerto Rico is now representing in the Miss America pageant. For the first time since 1961, Miss Puerto Rico was finally added to the lineup for the Miss America 2010 pageant. Miss Puerto Rico Miriam Pabon won the preliminary Swimsuit contest in the 2010 pageant, and now Miss America Puerto Rico is looking for the next Miss America – Puerto Rico! Here are the details:

The Miss America Organization is one of the nation’s leading achievement programs and the world’s largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women. Last year, the Miss America Organization and its state and local organizations made available more than $45 million in cash and scholarship assistance.

After almost 50 years of absence, the Miss America program is back in Puerto Rico. We invite your contestants to apply in order to become the next Miss America Puerto Rico.

Details: Looking for the next Miss America for Puerto Rico. After an almost 50 year absence from the Miss America Program, Puerto Rico is back. We are looking for:

Must be females as young as 6 years of age and not older than 24 years of age, US citizens, single (never married or had marriage annulled), never been pregnant nor parent of adoptive child, of good character and moral values (good conduct certificate required). Must be of Puerto Rican heritage. There is no application fee.

It is necessary to prepare a Talent presentation of 90 seconds.

Only applications by email will be accepted with contact information or resume and 2 current pictures to missamericapr@hotmail.com. Enclosed is an application. Please specify who were you referred by.

Deadline date: Applications must be received by April 30 or earlier, number of participants determined by number of entrants so apply today

Value of the award: first place more than $3,000 plus additional prizes, additional awards available.

Must be available during the summer and must be in Puerto Rico for the month of June.
