Unbeaten flyweight prospect Jantony Ortiz (3-0, 2 KOs) is working hard to become 100% ready to fight Mexican boxer Sergio Lopez (2-2-1). The fight will take place at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas on Saturday, December 13th.
After winning a narrow victory against Gilberto Mendoza (4-4, 1 KO) in Orlando, Florida last October 4th, the former Puerto Rican Olympian knew that he had to make some adjustments to training to get better results for his next fights.
“We learned a lot from the last fight, and that’s why this time we did a perfect camp for this fight against Sergio Lopez” — Ortiz
The talented fighter from Humacao, Puerto Rico, added undefeated flyweight prospect Angel “Tito” Acosta to his team for tactical technical training.
“Angel Acosta is an extremely strong and technical fighter. He always goes forward and helped me a lot for this preparation. I am very pleased and happy because I feel very well prepared for this fight. Angel was very helpful for me which I want to thank him,” — Ortiz
After his great professional debut at Madison Square Garden on the evening of Cotto vs. Martinez on June 7 last year, Cotto Promotions has connected Jantony with top notch venues.
“We are very pleased with Jantony, he is a great fighter with great skills. It’s part of our plan to take him to fight on the best platforms possible to have the Puerto Rican fans identify themselves with him and follow him,” — Hector Soto (Vice President/ Promoter Hector)
Jantony Ortiz is fighting for the first time in his career in the famous city of Las Vegas and leaves with his team on Wednesday, December 10th.
